KIOGA Annual Meeting
Aug. 27 - 29th

The Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association will hold its annual meeting August 27th through the 29th in Wichita, KS at the Airport Hilton. The meeting this year will feature a Trade Show and Prospect & Production Fair. The general membership meeting kicks off Sunday afternoon with the election of new officers and directors and reports from the KIOGA Standing Committees. Included in the reports will be an update on "Save Domestic Oil" from Harold Hamm. A seminar (co-sponsored by the North Midcontinent PTTC) will follow from Kinder Morgan CO2 Company (formerly Shell CO2) which will update the status of using CO2 for enhanced oil recovery in Kansas.

Monday's breakfast meeting will include guest speaker Dr. M. Lee Allison. Dr. Allison is the State Geologist and Director of the Kansas Geological Survey. Prof. Ronald E. Oligney will be the guest speaker for the luncheon. Prof. Oligney is adjunct professor and director of engineering research development at the University of Houston. He is also co-author of the newly released book, The Color of Oil. As an added bonus, all those at the luncheon will receive a copy of his book.

Seminars will begin Monday morning with Richard Spears. Mr. Spears is vice-president of Spears & Associates, a leading competitive intelligence research firm in the petroleum industry.

Do you have some questions that you would like to find answers to but no one in the office wants to call the KCC. Now is your chance. KIOGA has invited a panel from the Kansas Corporation Commission to address all those questions and more.

The afternoon sessions will begin with a detailed case history of the horizontal well that was drilled in Ness County in April 2000. Following will be a chance for you to be brought up to date on the many benefits available to you and your company as a member of KIOGA. Evening functions, entertainment, ladies events, golf, sporting clays and gin rummy will round things out for the whole event.
