PTTC Receives New Five Year Contract Extension

The U.S. Department of Energy has signed another 5 year contract for the Petroleum Technology Transfer Council (PTTC) to continue its program. The $2.6 MM annual funding will be utilized by the national PTTC and 10 regions throughout the country. The new contract is in effect from October 1, 2003 through September 30, 2008.

Over the past 8 years, the North Midcontinent PTTC has used its funding to conduct technology transfer activities for independent oil and gas operators through presenting workshops on a variety of technology topics, supporting website/information development of oil and gas data, newsletter publications and maintaining a regional resource center. To date, 78 workshops have been conducted in this region that about 4000 participants have attended.

The North Midcontinent PTTC is a collaborative effort involving the Tertiary Oil Recovery Project and the Kansas Geological Survey, both of which provide additional financial support. We are looking forward to another five years of serving the North Midcontinent oil and gas community.
