These are bug fixes and other program upgrades for WinSeis 1.5.

These modules will work only if you have an actively installed and functioning copy of WinSeis Lite or WinSeis Turbo (v1.5).

Feb. 2008 Upgrade to winvscn.exe

Corrects error in velocity panel stacking.

Sept. 2007 Upgrades to Resolve Windows XP Issues

Recent Windows update patches have affected the following WinSeis programs. Please replace the WinSeis Lite or WinSeis Turbo files you have with the following versions (same file names).

December 2004 WINFILT.HLP file for WinSeis Turbo.

If you get a message that the WINFILT.HLP file is missing, download this archive, open it, and copy the WINFILT.HLP file to your Wseis15 folder.

November 2001 fk-filter (Pie32.exe and Cmdedit.exe) replacement.

Username and password required for this file. Contact us if you believe you need this file but do not know the username and password.

Copy CMDEDIT.EXE into the WinSeis 1.5 folder, replacing the old copy of the same name. Then copy PIE32.EXE into the same folder. The new cmdedit uses the pie32 program. You may delete the old program, PIE.EXE, but it is not necessary and its presence will not affect WinSeis Turbo once these two new components are installed. You also might want to copy these two files onto a floppy and keep them with your installation CD for future installations of WinSeis Turbo.

Fan-cut filtering to CDP-stacked data was not working properly. Output data would be missing all the horizontal events with other improper features. This was due to a mistake in coding. New version (as of 11/08/01) should be free of this problem.

July 31, 2001 WinSeis Turbo conflict with WinVelp

This applies only to those copies of WinSeis Turbo that say "v 1.01" on the CD.

Problem:
WinVelp may generate an error message when a frequency spectrum is requested.
Cause:
Two files are not in proper location. The install program is responsible for this.
Cure:
MOVE (do not copy) the following files:
GSW32.EXE
GSWDLL32.DLL
from the \WSEIS15 directory to

  • Windows 9x users--Move them to the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory
  • Windows NT/2000 users--Move them to the \WINNT\SYSTEM32 directory

Status:
This a known problem and will be corrected in future releases of WinSeis.

June 2001 Winvelp.exe replacement

This version fixes a bug when trying to print the velocity scan image. Username and password required for this file. Contact us if you believe you need this file but do not know the username and password.
