The North Midcontinent PTTC will hold a focused technology workshop entitled "Optimized Horizontal Well Technology" on September 14, 2001 in Wichita, Kansas. We are pleased to be able to present a follow-up and continuation of the workshop we presented in May of this year. For those who missed the May workshop, this will be an opportunity to learn about horizontal well technologies from one of the world's leading experts on this subject, R. G. (Bob) Knoll of Maurer Technology, Incorporated. For those who attended in May, this workshop will provide details on horizontal drilling not previously covered. This workshop is a one-day crash course developed from a multi-day training school that has been delivered to technical and operational staff throughout the world. Approximately 170 schools on this subject have been delivered globally to over 4500 participants. The workshop will focus on horizontal well design and application. Focus is concentrated on marginal settings and the many misconceptions held by independent operators in respect to the applicability, cost, technical risk and challenges inherent in applying these technologies. Course materials for this workshop, as well as materials from the May workshop will be provided to all attendees. |
