KGS Public Offices Open but Closed to Walk-ins, COVID-19 Prevention Measures

University of Kansas (KU) leaders have been closely monitoring the spread of COVID-19. They know that some members of the KU community have been in areas with reported cases, and we don't expect to be immune from this virus. KU has a strong team that is assessing conditions regionally and across the nation and making recommendations. The Kansas Geological Survey (KGS) is following KU guidelines.

The KGS Kansas Geologic Sample Repository in Wichita is closed to walk-in customers yet open for business via email, phone (316-943-2343) and fax (316-943-1261) effective March 13, 2020, until further notice.

The KGS Publication Sales, Data Resources Library and Core Library in Lawrence are closed to walk-in customers yet open for business via email and phone effective March 17, 2020, until further notice.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Our goal is to reduce the risk of community spread by minimizing the number of people on site at our facilities. We appreciate your understanding.
