Pressure Decline

Original pressures of the Hugoton Gas Area were approximately 425 psi. Pressures have declined since major development and production of the field began in the late 50’s. Initial shut-in pressures of Council Grove, Panoma field wells have tracked Chase Group pressures within ~25 psi since beginning development of the Panoma field in 1958. The similarity of
pressures may indicate large-scale fracture communication.

Present pressures are below 80 psi over much of the Hugoton and Panoma fields. At the present decline rate, pressures will fall below economic limits within the next two decades. Recent studies have indicated the potential for deep gas is significant and indicate that not all reservoir volume is connected.
