Use Vs(z) for Near-surface Static Corrections for Shear-wave Reflection Processing

Near-surface shear-wave (Vs) velocity models with depth, Vs(z), can be used for shear-wave reflection static corrections. Output text results can be represented as 1D, 2D, and 3D depth models for processing by other reflection-processing software.

Vs(z) for Compressional-wave Reflection Static Corrections

Compressional-wave velocity (Vp) can be obtained from MASW Vs(z). For example, it is a common practice to compare and correlate MASW Vs(z) to borehole Vs and Vp data, respectively, at several locations at a particular site. Then, based on established MASW Vs(z) versus Vp trends, corresponding 1D, 2D, and 3D Vp depth models can be estimated and used for Vp reflection statics.
