Stratigraphy
Panoma gas production is from the upper seven marine-nonmarine sequences of the Council Grove Group that is Lower Permian, Wolfcampian in age. The log on the right shows an accepted informal alphanumeric zonation scheme and correlative formal nomenclature. Nonmarine (continental) silts (shown as red and orange) overlie exposure surfaces on the underlying marine carbonates.
