Thank you for participating in the Midcontinent Section AAPG, to be held at the Airport Hilton Hotel in Wichita, Kansas. The poster booths will be set up in the Prefunction Area (east end) and in nearby Consulate Room 3 of the Hilton. A floor plan showing the specific locations of these rooms and booth numbers therein will be available in your registration packet.

NOTE: Cash awards will be given for Best Student Oral presentation/Best Student Poster presentations (1st place $500, plus Midcontinent Section SEPM will pay expenses to the 2000 AAPG-SEPM Annual Convention in New Orleans; 2nd place $400; 3rd place $300; 4th place $200; 5th place $100). Students poster presenters are eligible to be considered for these awards only if: (1) he/she is the senior author in a multi-authored, accepted abstract/presentation; and (2) he/she is the presenter (i.e., available in the booths as the sole presenter and discussant from 9-10 AM and 2:30-3:30 PM). Placards identifying eligible student presentations will be attached to your booths. Students who wish to be considered for these awards must complete and return the enclosed Student Presenter Form no later than June 15.

Posters should be set up by ~8:00 AM on the morning of your presentation, and should be dismantled between 5:30 and 6:00 PM on that day. You must wear your badge and Poster Presenter ribbon to enter the poster booth areas to set up your presentation. Authors are required to be in their booths from 9-10 AM and 2:30-3:30 PM on the day of their presentation.

Each booth includes three 4x8 ft boards, arranged horizontally in a three-sided cubicle, on which your posters can be attached with tacks/push pins or double-stick tape. Please bring tape or a sufficient number of tacks/push pins as only a limited supply of these items will be available at the meeting. Additional equipment such as chairs, tables, electrical outlets, etc. may be requested in advance by completing and returning (by June 15) the enclosed Poster Session Questionnaire. Requests will not be honored after this date. Computers, VCRs, and other special equipment must be provided by the presenter. Please be sure to include the title of your presentation and the names of the authors at the head of your poster. You are solely responsible for transporting your posters and accessory materials to and from the poster areas, and for setting up and dismantling your posters.

Poster presenters should be aware that AAPG audiences are sensitive to commercial overtones and overuse of corporate or other business logos in scientific presentations. Consequently, presenters are advised to employ the proper professionalism and discretion in these areas. Advertising and sales promotions in any form are strictly prohibited. The American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) does not endorse or recommend any products and services that may be cited, used, or discussed in AAPG publications or in presentations at events associated with AAPG.

We invite and encourage you to attend the complimentary buffet breakfast for all speakers and poster presenters, which be Monday at 7:15 AM; check your registration packet for location. A free ticket to this breakfast will be included in your registration packet.
