Pottawatomie County--Inactive Quarries

Abandoned limestone quarry 19a
Northeast side of Kansas Highway 13
This now appears to be private property with a building containing a double garage and a workshop. The Beattie Limestone is exposed and it is reasonably inferred that the Cottonwood limestone was being quarried, probably during the building of the Tuttle Creek Dam. [Ron West]
Photos were taken looking south and southeast from the floor of the quarry.
