HELP: Load Existing Source Data

This panel allows the user to load multiple data types from multiple sources, i.e. the ASCII Delimited Data Files on your PC and the Kansas Geological Survey (KGS) Database & File Server. As the ASCII files are read in, the filenames are inserted into the text fields to give the user a positive feed back.

Once the user has loaded the data from the sources, select the "Continue" Button to create the Profile Plot.

NOTE: The User can load up to 3 Log ASCII Standard (LAS) version 2.0 & 3.0 files from either your PC or the KGS File Server.

Kansas Geological Survey (KGS) Database & Server Data

Kansas Well Data
This button allows the user to access well data stored in the Kansas database & Server. LAS ASCII Standard (LAS) version 2.0 Files & Core Images JPEG Files (Boxes, Core Slab, Thin Sections) Database Data: Perforations Depth Data, Formation Tops (Stratigraphic Units), Measured Core Data.
Kansas Brine Sample Data
This button will allow the user to download concentration of the brine sample data from Kansas Wells. This program will allow the user to produce a Brine Sample Plot and Piper Diagram at each Depth.
Kansas Measured Sections
Measured Sections (precise measurements and descriptions of a cross section of an outcrop or road cuts) for selected counties in Kansas.

PC ASCII Delimited Data Files

Log ASCII Standard (LAS) File Read
This version will read up to 3 Log ASCII Standard (LAS) Files, versions 2.0 & 3.0. This read process does not necessarily distinguish between the two versions. The LAS Java Read classes follow the rules set up by the Canadian Well Logging Society for both versions.
Tops CSV (comma delimited) ASCII File Read
This version will allow the user to map a comma delimited ASCII file data columns to the tops data variables in the Profile Web Application.
Brine Data CSV (comma delimited) ASCII File Read
This button will allow the user to map a comma delimited ASCII file data columns to the brine data variables in the Profile Web Application.
Measured Core CSV (comma delimited) ASCII File Read
This version will allow the user to map a comma delimited ASCII file data columns to the measured core data variables in the Profile Web Application.
Geologist Report delimited ASCII File Read
This version will allow the user to read & parse a delimited geologist report ASCII file data.

Log ASCII Standard (LAS) Log Data

Log ASCII Standard (LAS) Data Types
The Profile Web Application reads the LAS File Data and determines the data type in the following order:
  1. Litho-Density Logs
  2. Resistivity Logs
  3. Sonic Logs
  4. Spectral Gamma Ray Logs
  5. Gamma Ray Logs
The program sets the default tracks to represent the data type present. The user may turn tracks on or off to add to the presentation.
Log ASCII Standard (LAS) Log Data - Litho-Density Curves
( PE-Photoelectric factor, NPHI-Neutron Porosity, RHOB-Bulk Density, GR-Gamma Ray )
Log ASCII Standard (LAS) Log Data - Resistivity Curves
Log ASCII Standard (LAS) Log Data - Sonic Curves
Log ASCII Standard (LAS) Log Data - Spectral Gamma Ray Curves
(U-Uranium, K-Potasium, Th-Thorium)
