On-line Software
U.S. Department of Energy
The software available from the Dept. of Energy includes several enhanced
oil recovery predictive models, a polymer/waterflood predictive model, and
much more. Please download this software directly from the Bartlesville Project Office of the U.
S. Department of Energy.
PTTC SPE Level One Software

- Internet
for the Petroleum Industry. Online course for the
Internet. Learn to send mail, read and subscribe to news groups, download
data, and explore the Internet using several different methods. Gain an
understanding of protocols, servers, Web browsers, arcane acronyms, and
concepts necessary to understand and access the Internet. Locate and access
World Wide Web servers that are sources of petroleum information. Locate
information servers dedicated to Kansas oil and gas resources, search databases
and download Kansas well and production data. Learn the fundamentals of
creating your own web page.
- Reservoir
Simulation on a PC using US DOE BOAST 3 and Computer Mapping Packages.
Integrated geologic and engineering reservoir simulation
using public domain and low-cost software on a PC. Course uses data from
the Schaben Field in Ness County, Kansas (USDOE Class 2 Study). All the
data used in the workshop is available on the Internet. Participants will
use selected programs to map field parameters, generate volumetric calculations,
build a small simulation input file, history match and simulate a new well.
Data results will be extracted and displayed using spreadsheet, plotting
and mapping software. The results of the full field-simulation study will
be reviewed. All software used is public domain or very low cost.
