PTTC Moves Headquarters Office to Houston
The Petroleum Technology Transfer Council (PTTC), led by Executive
Director Don Duttlinger, has moved its Headquarters office to
Houston, Texas. The new office was occupied by PTTC on December
18, 2000, and was fully functional before the first of the new
year. PTTC's Headquarters had been located in Washington, DC
since its 1994 inception. The new contact information is: PTTC,
2916 West T.C. Jester Blvd., Suite 103, Houston, TX 77018. Phone
713-688-0900 or 1-888-THE-PTTC. Fax: 713-688-0935.
The move is part of PTTC's plan for enhancing communications
and connections with the independent oil and gas industry. This
effort will position PTTC to better meet the technology transfer
needs of the industry and make PTTC's leadership more accessible
to industry. "Washington, DC has been a positive location
for strengthening PTTC's relationship with the US Department
of Energy's (DOE) Headquarters, Congress, the Administration
and other organizations located there. All parties involved agree
that it is more important than ever, with an evolving economic
picture and continuing technological advancements, to be more
centrally located to the heart of the oil and gas industry,"
says Duttlinger.
PTTC's Board of Directors met in San Antonio, Texas on October
26th to discuss the possibility of moving its Headquarters. Leo
Schrider, PTTC Board Chairman states "It is an appropriate
time to initiate such an endeavor and that Houston would be a
favorable location." Prior to making the plans to move,
US Department of Energy officials, as well as key industry representatives,
were consulted as to their opinions on a move and a possible
location. "Houston has become a hub for the oil and gas
industry, which has led many independents as well as technology
providers to locate there. We believe it will be an effective
choice," explains Duttlinger.
Kathy Chapman, PTTC's Director of Business Affairs, will remain
in the Washington, DC area, maintaining PTTC's presence there.
Lance Cole, PTTC's National Project Manager, will continue serving
from Oklahoma where he has good access to industry throughout
the nation's mid-section. PTTC has hired a Communications Coordinator,
Alma Smith, to work in the Houston office. She will be responsible
for PTTC's quarterly newsletter, press and web communications,
and administrative functions. |
