Integrating Plug to Well-Scale Petrophysics with Detailed Sedimentology to Quantify Fracture, Vug, and Matrix Properties in Carbonate Reservoirs

Kansas Geological Survey
Open-file Report 99-47

Arithmetic mean permeability in the Lynd #2 core is within a factor of three of the DST calculated permeability for both DST test intervals. The upper test interval is composed primarily of shale and shaly mudstone with permeabilities below 0.01 md. The lower interval consists largely of breccia with grain and green clay infill. Whole core permeability is primarily contolled by the size and orientation of the fractures and the nature of the fracture fill material.
