Cretaceous Seafloor, Ellis County

Taken by Ron Schott, Fort Hays State University, on May 15, 2008. Fossils in a stone block in one of the walls on the campus of FHSU. Many of these limestones are quarried locally - the fossils accumulated along with lime mud on the floor of the Cretaceous Western Interior Seaway some 80 million years ago.
