The following list of gas storage fields was provided by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
It is not complete and is being updated. Note the following changes:

  1. the Western Resources Yaggy facility is now the Kansas Gas Service Yaggy facility;
  2. the Koch Hydrocarbons, Inc operator (third from bottom) is now Williams; and
  3. the Mapco Fractionating operator (second from bottom) is now Williams.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) regulates underground gas storage in salt caverns. KDHE has provided a table of underground gas storage facilities regulated by KDHE. Locations of those facilities are shown below. The Kansas Gas Service Yaggy facility is the only facility in Kansas in which natural gas is stored in salt caverns. The remainder of the facilities listed in the table and shown on the map store gas liquids.

In the vicinity of Hutchinson, the Kansas Gas Service (Yaggy) facility stores natural gas. The Ferrellgas and Koch facilities are used for gas liquids storage.
