The ratio was obtained by dividing the cumulative historical production (of oil and water) by the cumulative well production calculated by the simulator over the same period of time. A ratio of 1 means that the simulation output in terms of cumulative production matches the production history of the well .

For most wells the cumulative ratio for oil varied between 0.8 to 1.2, and it indicates a modest to a good match. However, the ratio for cumulative water production varied between 0.5 to 1.5. As an important point of note here, the historical cumulative water production values for each well was calculated indirectly (i.e. from the oil rate and the water cut data obtained from the annual well test) and thus can be expected to have some inherent inaccuracies.
