The "Best Areas for Infill Drilling" highlights prospective areas where the pay thickness is more than 20 ft. and the residual oil saturation is more than 40%. The results of the previous slide show the economic benefits of using horizontal wells to exploit such "thick-pay" prospects in place of vertical infill wells.

This map shows the "thin-pay" (where the pay is less than 20ft. and the residual oil saturation is more than 40%) prospects in Schaben as of 1995, and was used to study the effectiveness of horizontal wells in enhancing recovery from "thin-pay" zones as compared to using vertical infill wells.
