Appendix A. Proximate and ultimate analyses, heat-of-combustion, forms-of-sulfur, free-swelling index, and ash-fusion-temperature determinations for 29 Pennsylvanian coal samples from southeastern Kansas. For each sample number, the analyses are reported three ways: first, as-received; second, moisture-free; and third, moisture and ash free. All analyses by Coal Analysis Section, U.S. Department of Energy, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Kcal/kg = 0.556 (Btu/lb); °F = (°C x 1.8) + 32.
