Theme Session 27

Applied hydrogeology and geophysics: innovative approaches to old hydrogeological challenges

Amir Mokhtari Fard, Hydro Research, Täby, Sweden

The symposium session will discuss innovative approaches being used to monitor, detect and deal with leakage and settlement as the major hydrogeological challenge and to deal with isolating or mitigating groundwater in major geotechnical constructions. Oral presentations with focus on case studies are encouraged. The symposium will focus on innovative and breakthrough academic approaches to shed new light on, and address the various performance limitations imposed by the major Quaternary geologic agents, namely stress and groundwater, in geotechnical constructions.
