Theme Session 22

Upper Paleozoic Depositional Systems, Cyclo- and Sequence Stratigraphic Architecture, and Their Controls on Hydrocarbon Reservoirs in the U.S. Midcontinent

Wan Yang, Wichita State University
Salvatore J. Mazzullo, Wichita State University

Component lithofacies and depositional systems comprising the classic Upper Paleozoic depositional cycles and stratigraphic sequences in the Midcontinent are diverse and form complex stratigraphic architectures. This session invites contributions on outcrop and subsurface, petrographic and stratigraphic, geological, geophysical, geochemical, and/or paleontological studies of the component depositional systems, their stratigraphic architecture and controlling processes, and their impact on finding good hydrocarbon reservoirs in the subsurface.
